Tanya Malcolm as Lisa
Organizer, Director, and Performer in 'Birth' a play by Karen Brody. She is a Mother of two children born in hospital and at home respectively. She is a Doula & Childbirth Educator and owns maternity boutique and support centre called Womb To Grow. She followed the love of her life to Fernie, British Columbia where she still lives.
Sonia Roy as Jillian
Sonia Roy is a mother,teacher & musician who loves nature and every form of art. She loves meditating and learning about people and life. She travelled to West Africa where she met her husband and father of her beautiful son born by c-section. She is participating in the play because she believes in raising awareness, especially about childbirth.
Leilani Hall as Amanda
Leilani is a wife and mother to a lovely 1 1/2 yr old girl who was born
with midwives in Fernie hospital. She is a practicing RN, loves the outdoors, being a mom and finds health and joy to be intertwined
with living & playing in the mountains.
Virginia Robinson as Beth
Virginia Robinson is a physician, former CBC writer and mountaineer. She happily survived two natural childbirths at the Fernie Hospital in the company of her husband and close friends, Dr. Lori Gadsden and Pepper Couelle-Stirling. She is ecstatic to be back on stage in the company of such talented performers.
Jen Asselin as Janet
Jen is the mother of one beautiful 8 year old son who wanted to join us a little early at 34 weeks. He was delivered by unscheduled C-section in Lethbridge. I advocate for better living conditions for moms and children, equal education for all and promote love and peace. I have made Fernie my home and can't imagine doing my life's work anywhere else.
Kylie Rogers Walker as Sandy
Kylie Rogers Walker is a mother of one that was blessed with a amazing birthing experience at home. She is a stay at home mum living a life that embraces her love for nature. She continually strives to keep her home as earth friendly as possible by living off grid in Fernie, BC.
Lisa Tessler as Nathalie
Lisa is a Family Doctor. She moved to Fernie after residency 15 years ago to ski and mountain bike. Shortly after she was followed by the love of her life. They married and had two children here in Fernie. Lisa enjoys working in a busy family practice and delivering low-risk maternity patients, who she cares for in the least interventional way possible.
Chelsea Breeze-Kent as Vanessa
Chelsea has one little boy born by c-section. She is a hardworking mother and hairstylist, working out of her home. She came to Fernie in search of a new chapter in life. Four years later she's still living here and she has everything she's ever dreamed of.
